Help Us Build A Stronger Charlotte

At United Way of Greater Charlotte, we're committed to empowering residents to shape the future of their communities. Through our United Neighborhoods program, we're making a real difference by working hand-in-hand with local community quarterback organizations.

Together, we co-create impactful Live United Day events, where neighbors and volunteers come together to build stronger, more vibrant communities.

What is United Neighborhoods?

United Neighborhoods, launched in 2017, works to change the odds for those living in Charlotte’s most disinvested neighborhoods. By working alongside lead partners in each community, United Way funds and guides the work toward achieving the collective goal of building thriving neighborhoods. Community needs are identified by residents and addressed by a coalition of community stakeholders that includes schools, nonprofits, government officials, churches, hospitals and businesses.

In 2024, United Neighborhoods has expanded to over nine communities: Albemarle Rd./Central Ave., Beatties Ford Rd./Rozzelles Ferry Rd., Graham St./N. Tryon St., Grier Heights, Lakeview, Freedom Drive/Wilkinson Blvd., North Mecklenburg (Huntington Green, East Catawba, West Davidson, Pottstown, Smithville), Renaissance West, Sugar Creek Rd./I-85, West Blvd.
